Progress Update


The vibrating zombies are gone! ...sort of. As this was only for a game jam, I wasn't sure what the fate of it would be but I'd like to at least make it a fun, playable experience. We'll see where things go after that. The first thing I wanted to do was get rid of the feral, vibrating zombies. It was an issue caused with the sprite trying to stop at an exact x/y position but being unable to hit both points at once so it would flit between the two. It was actually a fun bug in a sense; hungry customers can be a bit like that sometimes! There are some proposed changes still to make before I update the file, but it'll be a fully-fledged game by this Halloween!

Upcoming changes:

  • No more vibrating zombies! This is done
  • Fix the viewport issue when playing as .html so it fits the screen
  • Implement functional UI score and progress tracking
  • Add main menu and in-game menu with 'Controls' and 'How-To-Play' screens
  • Create zombie walk animation
  • Add additional customer type - Ghost
  • Fix layering issues with recipe bubble and placed item overlap
  • Redraw interactable section of UI to fix visual perspective
  • Reduce range of available flavours in early levels
  • Introduce unlock/expansion feature to allow for personalisation of workstation

This list will likely grow as development progresses and playtesting highlights changes that need to be made. I'll update again as spooky season approaches!
